A: Use a wired connection, and be prepared to follow faculty requirements like using approved proctors or the Lockdown Browser.
Exam Proctor – Proctors must be approved (schools, libraries, testing centers), and forms submitted by the deadline.
Lockdown Browser – Get the free download before the first exam and confirm installation at testing sites with restrictions.

Launch!
Launch!
Launch! is a partnership between Lake Region State College (LRSC) and the University of North Dakota (UND). It serves students who do not yet meet UND admission requirements but meet LRSC eligibility criteria. Participants enroll as full-time LRSC students. They also take a limited number of prescribed UND courses on the UND campus in Grand Forks.
Students who complete 24 transferable credits with a 2.0 GPA may be considered for admission as degree-seeking transfer students to UND. Launch! students may access student life, housing, services, organizations, facilities, and activities available to all degree-seeking UND students. Division I sports are not included.
The program provides strong academic support and personal attention. Classes are small, allowing instructors to give individualized assistance. Tutoring is built into the schedule, with additional support from the Student Success Center on the UND campus. Intensive advisement is provided, and the Launch! Coordinator is on campus to assist students.

State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)
Lake Region State College has a comprehensive online program offering courses and complete degree programs. Online courses and degrees are available to out-of-state students based on state authorization.
State and federal laws require colleges to get authorization to offer online courses and degree programs in other states.
LRSC has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). SARA is an agreement among states, districts, and territories. It sets national standards for interstate post-secondary distance education courses and programs. The following states are members:

Lake Region State College is a regionally accredited institution. Student complaint and grievance procedures are in the LRSC Policy and Procedure Manual, Policy 800.31.
If a complaint cannot be resolved at LRSC, contact the North Dakota University System (NDUS). NDUS is governed by the State Board of Higher Education and serves as North Dakota’s SARA portal agency.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (Public Law 110-315) was enacted on August 14, 2008. It reauthorizes the Higher Education Act of 1965. The Act contains numerous federal reporting and disclosure requirements for information from various administrative areas of higher education institutions.

Professional Licensure
Professional licensure and certification requirements vary from state to state. Lake Region State College offers the following programs that may lead to professional licensure or certification:

Lake Region State College is confirming if programs meet the educational prerequisites for professional licensure or certification outside North Dakota. Nursing
The LRSC Nursing program is designed to provide:
- One-year Practical Nurse Certificate (PN)
- Two-year Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
These tracks allow individuals to become licensed in North Dakota. Licensure requirements may differ in other states. If you plan to earn an LPN certificate or ADN degree and work out of state, review applicable licensure requirements. Contact LRSC's Nursing Department for more information.
Peace Officer Training
The LRSC Peace Officer Training program is designed to provide two tracks.
- One-semester certificate to become a licensed police officer.
- Two-year Associate Degree in law enforcement.

Speech-Language Pathology Paraprofessional
The program is designed to provide:

Surgical Technology
The LRSC Surgical Technology program is designed to provide:
- Three-semester certificate to become a certified Surgical Technologist
This certificate program enables individuals to become certified in North Dakota, but licensure requirements may vary by state. Our curriculum may not meet the requirements in other states. If you plan to earn a Surgical Technology certificate and work out of state, review certification requirements at https://www.ast.org/. Many students take LRSC summer courses to stay on track or finish their degree faster. Students from North Dakota, across the U.S., and other countries enroll each year.
Q: I want to register but can’t. What should I do?
A: Start by submitting an application for admission to begin enrollment.
Q: I’m a student at another college or university. Can I take a class?
A: Yes. Students in the North Dakota University System should use Collaborative Enrollment. You must be enrolled in at least one course or credit at your home institution. The home institution is the college or university where you are seeking a degree. If not enrolled at your home institution, apply as a non-degree-seeking student.
Q: Do I have to pay the $35 admission fee?
A: Yes. First-time LRSC students pay the fee. Returning students who previously attended LRSC have the fee waived.
Q: When do summer courses start?
A: Most courses begin in early June, though some start earlier. Check the term schedule for exact dates.
Q: What is the cost of a class?
A: Online tuition is charged per-credit-hour. Textbooks and supplies vary and are additional cost. Click here for current rates.
Q: I can’t register for English Composition or Math (College Algebra). What should I do?
A: Placement scores are required by the North Dakota University System. ACT English and Math sub-scores are most common. Other scores may be accepted. Test score information is available on the LRSC Website. Scores can be submitted to the LRSC Admissions Office.

Q: Is there a specific time I need to be in class?
A: Usually, no. Courses are asynchronous, so instructors and students are not online at the same time. Assignments, discussions, and quizzes have specific due dates each week or unit. Some courses include a weekly real-time chat to discuss topics and answer questions.
Q: Will a book be required for my course?
A: Most instructors do require a book. See the LRSC Bookstore Website for textbook details.
Q: How is credit transferred after completing the course?
A: Contact the Registrar’s Office to request an official transcript.
Q: When can I pay my tuition? How do I pay?
A: Students can pay online with a credit or debit card. Payment can also be submitted to the LRSC Business Office.
