The city of Devils Lake, North Dakota is a premier vacation and living destination year-round. Devils Lake derives its name from the Native American term Miniwauken, meaning "Spirit Water." It is the largest natural body of water in North Dakota. The prairie lake produces large numbers of walleye, northern pike, and white bass. It has earned the nickname "Perch Capital of the World." Devils Lake ranks among the top five fishing lakes in the U.S. In fall, hundreds of thousands of waterfowl migrate through the area, creating excellent hunting opportunities for locals and visitors.
