Located on the south side of campus, South Hall offers students a comfortable and practical living environment. The hall features carpeted rooms and hallways, movable furniture for flexible layouts, and built-in closets for ample storage. With wireless internet access and well-designed community spaces, South Hall is a great place to call home.

Resident Hall Amenities Overview

Safety & Security:
Security cameras monitor entrances, parking lots, and hallways. Resident Hall Assistants oversee activity, assist students in connecting with resources, and foster community involvement.

Parking:

  • Handicap parking available with proper permits.
  • Outdoor electrical outlets: $100/year, first-come, first-serve.

Furnished Rooms:

  • Limited single rooms for returning students, otherwise double occupancy.
  • Includes: Twin XL beds, dressers, closet space, and free wireless internet (bring your computer).
  • ADA-accessible rooms available upon request via the Housing Application.

Kitchenette:

  • Equipped with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, sink, and dining area.
  • Students provide their own dishes, utensils, and cookware.

Dining Services:
All resident hall students must have a meal plan. Meals are deducted from their R-Card (Student ID).

Lounge:
Halls feature a community lounge with a flat-screen TV and comfortable seating, perfect for relaxing and socializing.

Laundry:
Washers, dryers, and ironing boards available in each hall. Use R-Card for payment. Students should bring laundry essentials.

Bookstore:
Offers supplies like laundry items, toiletries, clothing, snacks, coffee, gifts, textbooks, and more. Handles UPS shipping.

Mail Services:
Each student has a mailbox. Mail service runs Monday–Friday, with vacation holds. Small package shipping via USPS/FedEx is available through the President’s Office.

Computer Labs:
Accessible labs, including the 24/7 New Horizon Computer Lab near the library, are conveniently located.

Vending Machines:
Available across campus for snacks and beverages.

What to Bring

Essentials:

  • Linens: pillows, pillowcases, blankets, sheets, bedspreads, towels, washcloths

  • Toiletries and hygiene supplies
  • Removable adhesive for posters and pictures

  • Electronics: computer, gaming devices, radio, stereo, TV/Blu-Ray player
  • Decorations: posters, photos (use removable adhesive; no nails or staples)
  • Floor coverings: throw rugs
  • Kitchen items: small refrigerator, corn popper, dishes, silverware, cups, glasses, pots, pans, dish soap, dish towels
  • Laundry supplies: basket, soap, fabric softener
  • Personal care tools: hairdryer, curling iron, electric razor/shaver
  • Lighting: table lamp or study light (non-halogen, under 120 watts)

  • Extension cords and surge protectors

What Not to Bring

  • Pets: Only small fish are allowed.
  • Lighting: Halogen lamps over 120 watts.
  • Weapons: Firearms, fireworks, or any lethal weapons.
  • Cooking Appliances: Crock pots, frying pans, hot plates, coffee pots, toasters, electric grills, etc.
  • Heating Appliances: Space heaters, electric fireplaces, or similar items.
  • Open Flames: Candles, potpourri burners, incense, oil lamps, etc.
  • Alcohol: Including decorative containers.
  • Illegal Substances: Drugs and drug paraphernalia.
  • Combustible Materials: Gasoline, propane, charcoal starter fluid, etc.

What is Provided
