Wind Energy Technician students may complete a one-year certificate or continue to earn an Associate in Applied Science degree.
The Wind Energy Technician program at Lake Region State College was the first in North Dakota. Growth in the wind industry has increased demand for skilled technicians. Lake Region State College partnered with industry leaders to design training that prepares students for wind energy careers.
Students in the program will learn:

- Fix and maintain wind turbines
- A hands-on educational experience by working on actual turbines.
- Working in high areas
