Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE)

About CCSSE

The Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) provides information on student engagement, a key indicator of learning. Student engagement reflects the quality of community colleges. The survey asks community college students questions about practices and behaviors linked to learning and retention. CCSSE serves as a benchmarking tool, establishing national norms for educational practices and performance at community and technical colleges. It is also a diagnostic tool, identifying ways to improve students’ educational experiences. Additionally, it acts as a monitoring tool, documenting and enhancing institutional effectiveness over time. For more information on CCSSE, visit their website.

Understanding Survey Results

Following the administration of CCSSE, LRSC receives a Key Findings Report, Benchmark Reports, and Mean and Frequency Reports. CCSSE publishes tutorials to familiarize institutions with these reports. Click here to access these tutorials.
