LRSC strongly encourages victims of any violence to seek medical attention as soon as possible, even without visible injury. Medical providers can treat physical injuries and identify those that may not be visible. They can also test for and treat sexually transmitted infections, perform pregnancy tests, and provide emergency contraception when appropriate. Hospitals can test for alcohol or other substances, including “date rape” drugs, and perform a sexual assault evidence collection kit.

Report
Report
Anyone who believes they experienced sexual misconduct can choose to report it to law enforcement or file a college complaint. Information on reporting options is available in the File a Report section.
Even if no report is made, Lake Region State College strongly encourages preserving evidence whenever possible. Preserving evidence helps maintain all future options. More information is available on our Preserving Evidence page.
Other Help
Other Help
The college can implement interim measures and accommodations to provide immediate support and protection for individuals experiencing sexual misconduct. Such measures include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance moving safely between campus buildings.
- Issuance of a no-contact order to the complainant and/or accused.
- Relocation of the complainant and/or accused to different campus housing.
- Adjustment of the complainant’s and/or accused’s class schedule.
- Provision of counseling services.
- Provision of academic support services.
- Placement of employees on leave or students on suspension pending the investigation outcome.
Interim measures and accommodations are available even if an individual does not report an incident to law enforcement. The college keeps these measures confidential whenever possible, as long as confidentiality does not prevent providing the accommodations.
To request interim measures or accommodations, contact a Lake Region State College’s Title IX Coordinator or email LRSC.KnowYour9@lrsc.edu.
