Fall & Spring Housing
Why live in the residence halls?
Why live anywhere else? Residence hall life means having all the resources of the college at your fingertips ... no cold winter walks, no parking problems...and plenty of time to enjoy the events, programs, and people that are part of the Lake Region State College experience.
Our housing complex is composed of Three buildings—Gilliland Hall, South Hall, and North Hall. The residence halls are connected to the main campus structure. The majority of rooms are double occupancy and all are smoke-free. You may choose your roommate, or we will select one for you who shares similar interests. All the Residence Halls are considered Co-ed on our campus, Gilliland Hall by each suite (each suite has its own bathroom facility), South Hall one side of the hall is men's and one side is women's with separate bathrooms, and North Hall where women are in the back section and men are in the front section with separate bathroom facilities. Commuter students may arrange to use rooms on a per-night basis.
Small refrigerators (less than 4.3 cubic feet in size) and microwave ovens are allowed in the rooms. Central lounge areas are available for student use. Up-to-date laundry facilities are accessible to all residents, and plug-ins for vehicles are available for an additional charge.
Students living on campus are required to purchase meal plans. Choose one of the plans that meet your needs. Kitchenettes are provided in each hall.
Computers are available in many labs or the New Horizons computer lab is available 24 hours a day. Many students also set up their computers in their rooms.
The greatest part of living on campus is the people. In Residence Life, you meet students from many different areas of the state, the region, and even the world! The Residence Hall organizes socials, recreational events, and educational activities that provide opportunities to make lifetime friendships.
The North Dakota University System instituted a policy that requires those students living in Residence Halls to provide proof of meningococcal immunization before they are allowed to move into the halls. Documentation of immunity under Policy 506.1.2 means: (a) evidence of at least one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine in the five years before enrollment or (b) evidence of two doses of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine administered at age 10 or older and at least eight weeks apart.
