Devils Lake ADN student Samantha Fell was recently selected to review Sherpath products for Elsevier's new Student Resources Page, which is slated to roll out in early 2021. "I follow Elsevier on Instagram where a few months ago I responded to a poll on their story, and I really didn't think anything of it. Well last week I unexpectedly received an email from their marketing director asking if they could interview me about how I liked Sherpath and how it has helped me in my studies during COVID-19, so I replied back right away." Sam says the interview went well, and the recording over Zoom took less than 10 minutes for the interview portion, and another 30 minutes just visiting and giving feedback on Elsevier's website and other resources they offer.
At the end of the interview, Elsevier offered Samantha a position as a Student Ambassador with Elsevier, where she along with 30 other students around the world will provide insights on student needs and challenges, review products and marketing content, create articles and videos for the student community, and publish content on social networks. "I was so surprised. I mean I had seen previous Ambassadors on Instagram and thought "Wow, I wish I could do that", but it seemed like all the ambassadors were from 4-year universities so I never applied."
Sam will take over Elsevier's Student Instagram the week of November 30-December 4 where she will be giving out tips and advice for school, her experience related to school and other fun and interesting things related to nursing. She will also be doing a giveaway for a set of Saunders Q&A Review Cards for the NCLEX-RN Examination and will also have discount codes available for Elsevier books. After this, she will be a content creator for Elsevier where she will have a blog page and hopes to post regularly. "This isn't just amazing for me, but also for all nursing students in North Dakota. I'm putting us on the map and I'm so excited to represent us!"
