Two will be inducted into Lake Region State College's Hall of Fame November 2.
Longtime registrar and math instructor Dan Johnson and college advocate Annette Hofstad are this year's inductdees.
This year’s Key Event has a "Rollin' On the River" theme. Party goers can come ready for a night on the riverboat, dressed for a fun night on the town, or come as themselves. The party starts at 5:30 pm November 2nd in the Ramsey County Memorial Building with the social and silent auction bidding.
Guests will then have the opportunity to enjoy a splendid Captain’s Dinner and rollicking entertainment at 6:30. Local personalities like Peter Foss will add to the fun from the stage, and Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced. Proceeds from the auction and the party itself are used for scholarships for students and support for instructional programming, said Elonda Nord, director of the Community College Foundation.
This year will showcase some fun raffles and games during the evening, Nord added.
“An early quilt raffle is already underway. Chances to win a beautiful handcrafted quilt by Annette Hofstad are $5 each and another winner will receive a $500 Leevers gift certificate,” she said.
Raffle winners will be announced at the Key Event, though you need not be present to win. The evening will conclude with dessert and the highfalutin excitement of the Opportunities Auction from 8:00-10:00pm. Tickets for the quilt raffle can be purchased by calling 662-1520.
The Community College Foundation’s board of directors works very hard to direct funds to the places they are most needed, says Nord.
“Donors can feel pleased to know their support is helping students reach their educational goals.”
Silent auction items are still needed. Homemade items, tools and equipment, antiques, artwork, sporting equipment, gift certificates, and outings or parties are always popular gifts. To donate an item or have one picked up, call 662-1520 or just drop it off at LRSC’s Foundation office.
Tickets for the evening’s event cost $60/person. To purchase tickets, contact 662-1683.
