Women’s Basketball at Lake Region State College is under new leadership. Lake Region State College Athletics announces Colden Hutton has been named head coach of the Royals Women’s Basketball team.
He will start his new position later this month. Hutton most recently was the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at William Woods in Fulton, MO, where the team completed the third best record in school history. Hutton has also worked as an assistant coach at Iowa Wesleyan.
Hutton is no stranger to Lake Region State College. He was an assistant coach for both LRSC men’s and women’s basketball teams and served as interim head coach for the Royals’ women’s team during the 2021-2022 season.
“I am excited to be back at Lake Region and in the Devils Lake community. The amount of support we get here is unmatched and I can’t wait to be part of the community again,” Hutton said.
LRSC Athletic Director Jared Marshall said Hutton is well-versed in the work it will take to maintain a team of excellence.
“Having worked closely with Colden in the past, I know the type of effort, dedication, and hard work he puts into everything he does,” Marshall said.
Established in 1941, Lake Region State College is a comprehensive community college within the North Dakota University System. Lake Region State College offers the first two years of a bachelor’s degree (transfer) and career and technical education programs that lead to fast entry into the workforce.
