Lake Region State College Playmakers present Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde October 19-21 at 7:30 pm and October 22 at 2:00 pm in Robert Fawcett Auditorium.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a 2008 adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher of the novella Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson written in 1886.
This classic tale is about the struggles of Dr. Jekyll to develop a formula that would isolate and eliminate the sinful and ugly parts of the human soul. His experiments lead to the birth of Mr. Hyde. In this adaptation, like the original novella, Dr. Jekyll ultimately fails to achieve his goal, but the bifurcation is not complete and Jekyll and Hyde’s qualities bleed into one another and lead to a chilling and thoughtful ending.
Six actors play all the numerous roles within the play and change character instantaneously in front of the audience.
Ticket prices: Adults – $10; Seniors and Children – $5; LRSC students – Free.
