Lake Region State College recognized its Florence Lake Presidential Scholars for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Students who earn the Florence Lake Presidential Scholarship receive a $4,000 renewable scholarship.
This year’s recipients include Lenora Wolf of Zeeland, ND; Aiden Bryce-Volk of Devils Lake, Dawson Weisz of Cando, ND; Ryan Boesl of Langdon, ND; Matthew Withrow and Skyler Bergstrom of Grand Forks; and Julia Pic of Park River.
The purpose of the Community College Foundation of Devils Lake, ND is to assist in development and promotion of Lake Region State College; to solicit scholarships for students at the college; to administer funds and property which may be given to it for such purposes; and to support the college in fulfilling the education needs of the people it serves, in accordance with the college mission statement approved by the State Board of Higher Education.
Established in 1941, Lake Region State College is a student-centered, open-access, comprehensive community college within the North Dakota University System. The college provides quality academic education, vocational/technical training, workforce training, educational outreach opportunities, and life-long learning.
Lake Region State College lives its motto of “We change lives!” and the college is determined to bring education where it is needed when it is needed. Most campus-based programs are available online and LRSC delivers programs in regional communities, too. LRSC offers nursing education on its Devils Lake campus, Mayville, Grand Forks, and awaiting approval to deliver in Jamestown. The Peace Officer Training Program is offered on campus and in West Fargo and Grand Forks. Courses and degrees are also offered in the Grand Forks region at Grand Forks Air Force Base and on the UND campus through the LAUNCH! Program.
