President Doug Darling received the 2021 North Dakota 4-H Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Award.
He was nominated by Ramsey County 4-H for his 16 years of dedicated service to Ramsey County 4-H Shooting Sports as a shotgun and air rifle instructor. Doug has also been very instrumental in growing the state shotgun program and assists yearly with the state match.
Doug has prepared and coached seven teams for national shotgun competition and standing on the award podium is a regular event for the teams Doug has prepared. His approach to coaching is to empower each participant to find the best in themselves.
In his nomination, Ramsey County 4-H stated that “He has an endless enthusiasm for the future of youth. He has not only coached our youth to be quality marksmen but has installed values such as respect for themselves and other, as well as responsibility.”
