As with everything else this year of COVID, things can’t be done the same way as in the past. The gingerbread houses are not on display in the hallways for people to view---especially those elementary students who pass them when they come to the auditorium to practice and then beg their parents to bid.
This time, the honor society is asking for your help. Unlike previous years, we are not having as many houses as we have, and unlike previous years, the students made these houses on their own time, rather than as a group event. But they wore masks and gloves as per COVID protocol when they designed their houses.
The purpose of this event is not to raise money, but rather to promote literacy, by encouraging parents or grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings to read the book to the child…and enjoy the candy (not the gingerbread!) while doing so.
Under each house is its number, a brief description, and the minimum starting price. We are hoping that you, our school personnel, will help us as generously as you have in the past. Simply email me your name, the number and name of the house you want, and the price you are willing to pay. Each day I will send out an updated bid sheet, starting December 10th and closing at midnight December 14th. You will be informed Dec. 15th, and the house will be delivered to you. Please make a check out to PTK Gingerbread. Thank you so much for your support.
