The agency charged with accrediting Lake Region State College will be making its 10-year evaluation visit this week. The visit is scheduled for Monday, October 5th and Tuesday, October 6th.
Every ten years LRSC undergoes a comprehensive evaluation by its accreditation agency, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The purpose of the evaluation is to ensure that LRSC is meeting the Criteria for Accreditation, pursuing institutional improvement, and complying with certain requirements set by the U.S. Department of Education.
Staff and faculty have invested significant time and effort into preparing the materials required for this evaluation, including the Assurance Argument, Federal Compliance, and COVID-19 Response.
As part of the comprehensive evaluation, a peer review team conducts a site visit to verify that the claims made by LRSC in its materials are accurate. Due to COVID-19, this visit will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.
Calendar invites have been sent to faculty and staff for those meetings requiring their attendance. All faculty and staff are welcome to participate in the criterion open forum meetings on Monday at 2:00-2:45 and all students, faculty, and staff are invited to speak with an HLC representative during the drop-in session on Monday at 4:00-4:45.
