Grants

You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for each of these grants. It is important to note that federal grants are gifts of money that do not have to be repaid. However if you have supplemental student loans they must be repaid, but there are repayment plan options available 
for graduates.

Federal Pell Grant- This program is available to undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor's degree. Federal Pell Grant awards are based on the student's Estimated Family Contribution and are awarded to students with exceptional needs.  For more information about Federal Pell Grant, awards go to https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/grants-scholarships/pell These funds are prorated based on enrollment status. The amount granted depends on your financial need, cost to attend school, status as a full-time or part-time student, and your intent to attend college for a full academic year or less.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) - These funds, provided by the Federal Government, enables the college to award a limited number of grants to undergraduate students with exceptional need and give priority to students who receive Federal Pell Grants. An FSEOG does not have to be repaid. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15th of each year.

Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant - provide money to college or career school students to help pay their education expenses. However, Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants have special eligibility criteria. You might be eligible if your parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan, you might be eligible for the grant.

North Dakota State Incentive Grant - North Dakota Student Financial Assistance Program provides grants to assist undergraduate students who need financial assistance. FASFA serves as an application for the program. Students must be North Dakota residents attending a North Dakota college or university.
