Earlier today, employees of the City of Devils Lake worked for hours in subzero temperatures to restore water service to the city after suffering a major water main break. City officials warn all water users to boil water before using it for drinking or cooking (including users on the LRSC campus). In addition, City officials ask all city water users, including all who live, learn, and work at LRSC, to conserve water where possible (avoid showering, bathing, washing clothes, etc.).
This boil order from the City is in effect until further notice. LRSC is asking all employees who prefer to drink water during the workday (or need it to take medicine, make coffee, juice, etc.) to bring bottled water or water they boiled at home with them on Tuesday. Water fountains and bottle fillers at LRSC will be unavailable. While the water in the restrooms will be on, faucet water is only for washing hands.
We will share any additional information as it becomes available.
